Sustainable House Day 2020

This year there are ten Nillumbik households participating and two great online events for you to Re-imagine the possibilities for your home to be more comfortable and inexpensive to run.

Insulation, double glazing, solar, heat pumps, draught proofing… sometimes it’s hard to know where to start! Here’s a great opportunity to talk to other homeowners to find out what worked for them. Whether you’re looking to optimise or starting from scratch, you’ll find information from householders who’ve been there before you. You can join our local event for direct conversations with local homeowners and join the national virtual event for expert information and topic based panel discussions.

The Nillumbik Trail - Online Q&A with local homeowners

There are nine Nillumbik homes (and one electric vehicle) participating in Sustainable House Day - The Nillumbik Trail this year. Clean Energy Nillumbik wanted to give you the chance to talk directly with local homeowners. We're running this series of Zoom meetings so you can ask questions and hear homeowners' experiences. Each Zoom meeting will run for 30 minutes and you can attend as many as you like. If you would like to participate, here's what you need to do:

1. Select the homes you would like to 'visit'. Each home has a profile on the Sustainable House Day website. Use the links below to view the profile for each of the Nillumbik homes then come back here to register. (Hot tip: on the SHD webside, click on 'Find Houses' and enter the postcode for Panton Hill, '3759'. The first nine homes listed are all Nillumbik homes.) Each entry has photographs and information about the sustainable features of that home. From September 13 there will also be a slideshow or video for each home. The homes that are participating in The Nillumbik Trail are:

2. Click on the 'Register Now' button below, find the house and session time you would like to join, click on the RSVP button and enter your details.

3. Once you have registered, a Zoom meeting link will be emailed to you on the day before the event. If you have not used zoom before, we recommend that you download the Zoom client and practice with a friend or family member well before the event.
